Photography has always been a way of paying attention to the world around me. From an early age, I found myself documenting everyday life, family, and travels - collecting little moments before they had a chance to disappear. That instinct to observe and preserve still shapes my work today.
I primarily work with film, shooting and developing both 35mm and medium format, but I’m just as happy to saddle up with my digital camera and see where it takes me. I’m interested in the tactile, sometimes unpredictable nature of making photographs and in the ways different processes can transform not only an image, but the story it tells.
Behind the camera is Crystal, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at the University of Colorado Denver. Her work is rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and a fascination with the many ways a photograph can hold onto a moment.
